Text Box: Tony’s Column Hi everyone, Superbowl is coming up this weekend and you have to wonder why they let former players from the teams that are in have a microphone to speak. Today, Armani Toomer went on the Jim Rome show and said that if Brady and Belichuk don’t win another Superbowl that their should be an asterisk by their previous 3 Superbowl wins. Talk about giving a team bulletin board material. Toomer is no longer a Giant Player but was a player on the Giants team that ended the Patriots bid to become the first 19-0 team and only the 2nd modern era team to have a perfect season and win the Superbowl. If the Patriots didn’t have a mission to win this one, they definitely do now. I thought maybe it would be a close game but I think New England just might find a way to make this game a blowout. Granted the Giants can say they are not responsible what a former player might say and that is true but if the Player was from say the 1990 Giants Superbowl winner that might be different, it would give them so impetus to win the game but not when the guy is only 2 season removed from playing and played a pivotal role in the win over the Patriots. Plus within an hour of his interview, the quote went viral. If the Giant’s lose the New York Papers are going to have a field day. I can see the quotes: “It’s Not a Toomer, We should have this Toomer Removed, Armani quotes help sink Giants, Armani doesn’t Suit Up, Toomer’s quotes a Pain for the Giants.” Well I guess by 9pm central time we will know, and hopefully the only Toomer headache the people of New York will have is from Madonna’s halftime show or too much American beer and really can you have too much American beer.
